In Room 3 we have been very lucky to have Amela Nikoalo helping us for the past 4 weeks.  She has been an amazing help and was very successful with her full control in the classroom.  Thanks Miss Nikoalo, good luck and we will miss you! Here is a little excerpt from Amela:

Miss Nikolao's (Student teacher) Blog:

WOW what an awesome 4 of 5 weeks of my time at Superstars Sunnyvale classroom.

It is a great pleasure being part of Room 3. The children are fantastically beautiful, my mentor Ms. Nola has been incredibly supportive, and meeting all you wonderful committed parents/caregivers/grandparents siblings has been just a wonderful experience.

For those who I am yet to meet, I'm a student teacher from Auckland University, completing my Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching. I am very proud of my Samoan heritage and I have taken every opportunity to share my culture with the little treasures in Room 3. This is my second practicum and I'm absolutely loving every part of my learning here at Sunnyvale School.

The past 4 weeks have been filled with amazing learning. A few highlights for me was celebrating Samoan Language Week and dancing and singing in front of the whole school, making bread and I also look forward to celebrating Mataariki with all the children this coming week.

Continue supporting your children with their learning. One of my joys was reading your childrens reading logs each day, their faces shine when they are read out for the rest of the class hear. Know that your little superstars are in very capable and passionate (about learning and children) hands of Ms. Nola.

Thanks students, parents and Ms. Nola for welcoming me into Room 3.

Fa'afetai Lava, Manuia le vaiaso.

(Thank-you very much, and all the best throughout the week)

Miss Nikolao.
